Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is the most important ant great Spanish exatriate figure in 20th century. He is the     co-creator of Cubism. He was a painter, sculptor, print ,maker, ceramist and stage designer.

Early life 

• He was born on October 25,1881.
• In Malaga,Spain
• He is the eldest of his two siblings.
• Father-Jose Ruiz Y Blasco
• Mother- Maria Picasso Y Lopez
• Siblings- Lolaand  and Conchita Picasso
• First spouse- Olga Khokhlova(who later died)
• Second spouse-Jacqueline Roque
• Children-Paloma,Paul,Joseph,Claude Pierre Pablo and Maya Widmair Picasso.

Art style

Picasso went through five main changes in his art style throughout his life.

01. The blue period

the period is started in 1901 after his friend Casagemas committed suicide in Paris.he painted Monochromatic paintings in shades of blue.this paintings showed suffering, depression and the misery of the poor. the 'blue period ended in 1904.

02). The Ros period

the rose period came right after the 'blue period' in 1904.he used warmer and brighter colours, often pink tones. the cheerfulness of this time is probably used because of a good relationship Picasso was in.Ros period ended in 1906.

03). The Cubism period 

There were often used gray and blue tones.these paintings focused on forms like the cylinder,sphere and the cone to represent the natural world.it ended in1912.

• Guernica(1937)

Shows the tragedies of war and the suffering in inflicts.

• The old guittarist(1903)

Reflected Picasso's predicament at the time.

• The weeping woman(1937)

Is regarded as a continuation of the tragedy depicted in Guernica.The model for this painting was Dora maaar,  Picasso's mistress of the time.

•  Picasso has 23 words in his name.
• He was believed to stillborn due to being weak.
• His first word was "piz"short for "pencil"in Spanish.
• His surname coming from his mother.
• Picasso did his first painting when he was only 9 years old.

• His first job was in Paris with an art dealer.
• He was accused of stealing the mono Lisa.
• He was a womanizer.
• Picasso was often sent to dentition during his school years.

Pablo Picasso died at the age 91 on April 8,1973 in France.He died while having dinner with his wife and some friends.
