'The Iron Lady'



 Margret Thatcher was an iconic national heroine who ended Britain's post-world war 11 cycle of decline.a soviet journalist called her the iron lady nickname that because associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style.

 Margret Hilda Thatcher was born on October in 13th 1925 Grantham,Lincolns hire to parents Alfred and Beatrice Roberls.her life in Grantham played important part in forming her political beliefs.her parents were Methodists.her father owned two grocery shops.

Thatcher attended oxford university and graduated master degree chemistry 1947. She studied law and became a barrister 1954. In Dartford she met Denis Thatcher, a successful and wealthy businessman. She married in December 1951.in 1953 her twins, Carol and Mark was born.


Thatcher's political career


  • Gave first political speech in age 20.
  • 1959 elected as a candidate of the ' Conservative party' for the constituency of Finchely,north London, in the 'house of commons'
  • 1970 became secretary of state for education and science.
  • 1975 had became the leader of the conservative party.
  • 1979 became the first female prime minister in British history.
  • 1988 and 1987 was reelected prime minister twice.
  • 1990 had resigned from the prime minister.

Margret Thatcher remains intensely controversial figure in Britain.her premiership as a period of fundamental importance in British history. She was accumulated huge prestige over the course of the 1980s and often compelled the respect even of her bitterest critics. Indeed her effect on the terms of political debate has been profound.

Margret Thatcher died on April 8,2013 in Ritz Hotel, London, st.Jame's, united kingdom because of stroke.

Margret thatcher has the seventh-longest time served among prime minister of the United Kingdom.(11 years 209 days)
